Burlington, ON – The AMC Institute announced on May 4, 2023 that Constance Wrigley-Thomas, CAE will be recognized by the Institute with their Excellence in Leadership Award during their Awards of Excellence Gala in Oklahoma City on June 6, 2023.

A transformative leader in the association and AMC milieu, Constance started her association career in 1990 when she was hired by the Ontario Restaurant Association as an event planner.

Constance is the co-founder of the AMC Institute Canadian Chapter. In 2014 she approached Serge Miceli, a colleague and AMC competitor, with an idea to bring together the association management company sector in Canada. This led to the formation of AMCI’s first international Chapter in 2016. Constance is immediate Past-President of the Chapter, served on the AMC Institute Board of Directors, volunteered on the Member Engagement and Associations Engaged committees and was an AMCI mentor. One of her favourite contributions over the years was co-facilitating AMCs by Size a half dozen times with her colleague Shari Bricks at AMCs Engaged and the AMCI Annual Meeting.

Constance has been recognized by the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) Trillium with their President’s Award (2009) and in 2021, received their Service Excellence Award – Executive Member. She was inducted into the M&IT Hall of Fame (2016) in the Mentor category and was also the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution by a Chapter Executive Award (2011) from NAIOP – the Commercial Real Estate Association based in Washington, DC.

Constance currently serves on Destination Victoria’s Client Advisory Board and two Burlington (Ontario) Chamber of Commerce committees.
